What this site collects, and what it doesn’t.

Plain language, no legal padding. Last updated .

The short version

This site runs its own analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no advertising network, no session recorder, and no third-party script of any kind. Nothing you do here is sent to another company, and nothing is sold, rented, or shared.

What is stored

When you visit, the site records the page you viewed, how far you scrolled, how long the page was actually visible, which links and buttons you clicked, your device type, browser, operating system, screen size, language, and time zone, and the website that referred you — the domain only, never the full address.

It also records page-load speed measurements and any JavaScript errors, so I can find and fix things that break.

The cookie

One first-party cookie, named cj_id, holds a random identifier. Its only purpose is to tell a returning browser from a new one, so I can see whether people come back before getting in touch. Two supporting cookies group your activity into a single visit (cj_sid, expires after 30 minutes of inactivity) and count how many visits you have made (cj_vn).

These cookies contain no name, no email address, no IP address, and no profile. They are readable only by this domain and are never sent anywhere else. They expire after 400 days.

What is never collected

  • Your IP address is never written to the database.
  • No keystrokes, no form contents, no screen recordings.
  • No cross-site tracking — the cookie is useless on any other website.
  • No data brokers, no advertising profiles, no lookalike audiences.
  • No fingerprinting techniques beyond the basic device details listed above.

If you would rather not be counted

Turn on Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control in your browser. This site checks both before doing anything at all: if either is set, no cookie is written and no event is recorded. Most analytics tools ignore these signals. This one does not.

You can also block or delete the cookies at any time. Nothing on the site depends on them.

Forms and messages

If you submit the application form or send a message through the chat widget, the details you type are delivered to me by email and stored in a private spreadsheet. That information is used only to reply to you and to evaluate whether we should work together. It is not added to a mailing list and not shared with anyone.

How long anything is kept

Raw analytics events are deleted automatically after 400 days. Application and message contents are kept for as long as the conversation is relevant, and I will delete them on request.

Your choices

Write to hello@joshichaitanya.com and I will tell you exactly what is held about you, correct it, or delete it. There is no form to fill in and no verification hoop — just ask.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
